The Alberta Medical Association (AMA) has developed a Physician Leadership Toolkit for Encouraging and Promoting Diversity and Inclusion in collaboration with The Colbourne Institute for Inclusive Leadership, Norquest College. The Toolkit was the result of engaging physicians to identify ways to create a more diverse and inclusion AMA. The Toolkit is rooted in a healthy working environment framework and includes a helpful chart of common barriers to equity, diversity and inclusion and some mitigation strategies. The section dedicated to recruiting and hiring a diverse workforce addresses topics on the impact of bias, assessing existing practices, and a tool for a physician to assess their inclusive leadership capabilities will be of interest to medical practitioners.
