What’s New: Diversity Still Matters
In the article titled Diversity Still Matters featured in McKinsey Quarterly, the authors state that “inclusion and diversity are at risk in the crisis – but are critical for business recovery, resilience, and reimagination”. As companies deal with the reality of the global pandemic, their survival is dependent on how they adapt to new ways of doing business and connecting to their customers and employees.
Kevin Dolan, Vivian Hunt, Sara Prince and Sandra Sancier-Sultan who authored this insightful article, cautioned companies who do not remain focused on diversity may “be placing themselves at a disadvantage”. The benefits of diversity and inclusion in a time of crisis are articulated and the authors build a solid business case. The conclusion reached by the authors is that when companies “invest” in diversity and inclusion they are in a better position to have a “competitive edge”.
