What’s New: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to solemnly reflect and advance the process of healing relations between indigenous and non-indigenous Canadians to enable us to build a better future. To observe this day in a meaningful way the following organizations provide valuable resources for educators, corporations, and individuals.

The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) provides an array of resources including, residential school history, United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and education resources.

The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada. The LHF’s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential School System (RSS) and subsequent Sixties Scoop (SS) on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities. There are excellent resources featured on this website.
