The Valuable 500 is the largest community of Global CEO’s committed to disability inclusion in business. This network has a combined revenue of over 8 trillion, market capital of $23 trillion and employs over 22 million people worldwide. In May 2022 the network published the Valuable Truth Report 2022: Tracking Progress in Global Business Disability Inclusion. According to the report, there’s still a disconnect in the perceptions of progress by business leaders and the lived experience of employees who have a disability. Although the report notes that there has been progress on disability inclusion it concludes it is imperative to be better focused on “aligning words with actions.”

The key findings from the survey that formed the basis of the Valuable Truth Report 2022 indicated that:

• 89% of respondents feel that they have made progress on their Valuable 500 commitment.

• 54% have an active disability inclusion accessibility policy and 17% don’t have one in place.

• 81% of respondents report they are better placed than last year; 18% feel that they are in the same place.

• 85% are working to remove the top barriers to recruitment: lack of staff awareness (49%) and lack of candidates (49%).

• 70% of companies have a resource network and/or support group.

The report includes case studies that feature the actions taken by various Valuable 500 companies to advance disability inclusion.
