What’s New: Inclusive Design Toolkit

The Inclusive Design Toolkit developed by the Engineering Design Centre at the University of Cambridge is an excellent resource. The toolkit addresses several topics including:

  • Definition of inclusive design

  • Understanding user diversity

  • Product performance indicators

  • Comparison between Inclusive and universal design

Each component of the toolkit features a description, helpful diagrams, and resources. In addition, there is a News Highlights section that shares updates on exciting inclusive deign development s that include: 

  • tool assesses visual accessibility of mobile screenshots.

  • new exclusion calculator enables better assessments for vision and dexterity.

  • guideline for e-commerce images to help businesses to increase sales

  • simulation gloves to help a bank become more inclusive

  • open ability of food packages tested by Sheffield Hallam University
