What’s New: Accessible and Inclusive Card Games
‘Uno,’ the card game by Mattel, which has been around for almost half a century, has become even more inclusive. In 2017, Mattel partnered with ColorADD, a global organization for colourblind education and accessibility, to create UNO ColorADD. The new look includes internationally recognized symbols which help people who are colourblind identify the cards in their hand. In 2019, Mattel launched UNO Braille. This new product was developed in partnership with the National Federation of the Blind, a nationwide American organization. This version of Uno has braille markings on the corner of each card that indicate the colour, number and action.
