What’s New: Diversity in Agriculture

Dairy farmer, David Fisher, president of the New York Farm Bureau has authored a thoughtful and compelling blog titled Diversity in Agriculture that is posted on the American Farm Bureau website. Fisher stresses that the future of agriculture needs to reflect an inclusive environment for everyone who farms. From this blogger’s perspective, agricultural organizations and farm bureaus need to have” a system in place where idea sharing is welcome, and everyone has an opportunity to be heard.”

Fisher concludes his blog by encouraging boards of directors of agricultural related organizations to look at the composition of their governing bodies and ensure that the diversity of the farming community is represented.
