How to Be an Inclusive Leader

The podcast titled How to Be an Inclusive Leader was sponsored by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Dean Erika James and other professionals in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion participated in the Leading Diversity live-stream event. Some of the key messages presented by the speakers included but were not limited to the following:

  • inclusive leaders must build trust in an organization;

  • three components of that trust are competence, communication, and contractual;

  • a diverse workforce and inclusive work environment are contributing factors to success; and

  • businesses must demonstrate their commitment to their values, diversity and equity must be reflected in their actions.
