What’s New: Accessible Fundraising Toolkit

Fundraising expert and author Henry Rosso is quotes as saying that “Fundraising is the gentle art of teaching the joy of giving.” Inclusive fundraising ensures that the “joy of giving” can be experienced by ALL.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals(AFP) has published the Accessible Fundraising Toolkit: A Guide to Becoming an Inclusive Fundraiser authored by Liz Chornenki of the YMCA Toronto and Alison Hughes of the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 

The guide is designed to assist fundraisers to be more inclusive of everyone, including people with disabilities and features the following key components.

  • Learning About Disability and Ableism and Creating an Inclusive Culture

  • Accessible and Inclusive In-person and Virtual Fundraising Events 

  • Considerations for Digital Fundraising, Social Media, and Direct Mail
